After announcing Snapdragon 710 SoC earlier this year, Qualcomm seems to be working yet another mid-range SoC. a mysterious Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 hexa-core SoC has been found listed on Geekbench. After the Snapdragon 650, the Snapdragon 680 will be the second hexa-core SoC in the Snapdragon 600 lineup.
Though the Geekbench listing doesn’t reveal much about the alleged Qualcomm Snapdragon 680, it does reveal how well it will perform based on the scores it has achieved on its Geekbench listing.
While Geekbench listings typically mention the name of the device alongside other information, but here the device is mentioned as the sdm680 as well. It might be Qualcomm’s test device. The Snapdragon 680 chip with a base frequency of 2.15GHz on the test device is coupled with 6 GB of RAM and it is running on Android 8.1 Oreo.
As per the Geekbench listing, the Snapdragon 680 has scored 1940 points in single-core test and 5153 points in multi-core test. The single-core score of the Snapdragon 680 is almost similar to Snapdragon 835 SoC that powered flagship phones in 2017.
The above scores suggest that the Snapdragon 680 is a powerful chipset that is designed for upper mid-range smartphones. Stay tuned with TechnoCodex for more updates.
