Qualcomm has announced Quick Charge 3 Plus today, the company’s next-generation charging technology which is widely used on smartphones. With Quick Charge 3 Plus, Qualcomm is promising a faster charging at a cheaper price for the upcoming smartphones.
As announced by Qualcomm, the Quick Charge 3 Plus will be made available for the Snapdragon 765 and 765G first. Also, the first phone with this technology will be the Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite Zoom. This will be the first phone which will be packed with both Quick Charge 3 Plus and Quick Charge 4 Plus. Apart from this, the company didn’t mention any other device which will be getting this technology in the coming weeks.
If we talk about the Quick Charge 3 Plus, it is highly focused on delivering super-fast charging at an affordable range. The company claims that with Quick Charge 3 Plus technology, a device can be charge from 0 to 50% in about 15 minutes. This is a whopping 35% faster than previous generations. In addition to that, the company also promises that the QC3+ will deliver the charging speed at 9 degrees Celsius cooler.
As for the power output, this new technology uses 20V and 3A up to 60W. One of the best things about the Quick Charge 3 Plus is, it will support industry-standard USB-A to USB-C cables and accessories. The support for USB-A is not even in Quick Charge 4 Plus. The company also mentioned that Quick Charge 3 Plus is fully compatible with previous generations. And so, it will support a wide range of accessories.
