Qualcomm Launches 215 SoC with Quad-Core Cortex-A53 CPU and Dual VoLTE

Qualcomm has officially announced Qualcomm 215 Mobile platform for the new generation of smartphones. This new SoC is specifically designed for mid-range or budget smartphones. The company is focusing more on Asian market where Mid-range Smartphone market is booming.

The new Qualcomm 215 SoC is a successor edition to Qualcomm 212 that was launched in the year 2015. This Chip is compatible with dual cameras and it will have a 64-Bit CPU. Additionally, the company is also offering its Snapdragon X5 LTE modem with VoLTE connectivity enabled.

This is the first SoC that will support both, 64-bit Android platform and mobile apps. Apart from this, the same chip will support NFC based payment gateways. It will feature an upgraded GPU that will support high graphics smoothly. It is said to offer up to 10 hours of video playback time continuously on an Android-based Smartphone.

Compared to the 32-bit CPU, the new 64-bit CPU by Qualcomm is said to come with double the performance speed. Additionally, the same Chip will support Quick Charge technology as well. It will recharge your smartphone in just a few minutes with Fast Charger.

The latest Chipset will be packed on a device with HD+ 19.5:9 display resolution capabilities and it will capture images of 13 Megapixel. It will also allow you to record full HD videos on your Smartphone. Being the latest Chip, this new Qualcomm 215 is specially designed for the economy buyers who can get all the advanced features at a budget price tag.

If we talk about the connectivity features, the new Qualcomm 215 SoC will come with Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, USB 2.0, Bluetooth 4.2 etc. It will be compatible with the devices with up to 3GB of RAM.

Qualcomm has just announced this new SoC so we may get to see the new Android devices powered by Qualcomm 215 in the coming months. Until now, we don’t know anything about the devices that will use this new Chip.
