Quake 2 RTX with ray-tracing has been released officially. The ray-tracing featured advanced Quake 2 RTX is now available to download and play for free. No matter whether you own the full version of the game or just a part of it, the game is now open for all and you can play it the way you want.

If you have owned the full edition of the Quake 2 RTX game, then the game is now available for free for you. You don’t need to purchase anything from the store.

For normal players, the first three levels of the game are available for free to experience the new ray-tracing in the game. If you love the new edition of the game and the behaviour of the gameplay, then you have to opt for the full game. The full game is available for $4.99 that you have to buy to get all the levels of the game.

Once you pay $4.99, the full RTX edition will be unlocked for you and you will be able to play this game with its full glory. The game has been in the market for over two decades; however, the new ray-tracing graphics is what makes everything different from the older version.

This edition uses path tracing to render the screen. It offers the highest workload to this edition compared to other ray-tracing editions.

Unfortunately, the game is not playable with GTX graphics card. To play this RTX edition, you need a GeForce RTX 2060 or higher RTX graphics card. If we talk about the other configurations, you will need an Intel Core i3-3220 or AMD equivalent processor with up to 8GB of RAM and 2GB of free space to handle the game.

This RTX edition of the Quake 2 game is nothing but a demo of NVIDIA’s latest graphics card which makes the ray-tracing enable for the future games. What they are asking the users is to switch from older graphics to the latest ones.

It is available for free from Steam and from NVIDIA’s official website. Give it a try to experience something new in the gaming world.
