pubg: PUBG Mobile bans over 20 lakh players within a week for cheating


Battle royale game PUBG Mobile has banned over 20 lakh players on account of cheating in the game. The crackdown took place within a week, from August 20 to 27. During this one week period, a total of 2,273,152 accounts and 1,424,854 devices were permanently suspended from accessing the game. The reasons for the ban include various forms of cheating employed like Speed Cheats (12%), Auto-Aim Cheats (27%), using X-Ray Vision (32%) and using other forms of cheating (22%). 4% of accounts were banned for modification of area damage while 3% were suspended for modification of character model. An announcement regarding this was made via the Twitter handle of the game.

PUBG Mobile has been coming under fire from players for quite some time for rampant cheating that occurs in the game. The banning of over 2 million accounts is probably the highest the battle royal game has served within the span of a week.
Coming to other news, the PUBG Mobile 1.0 update is set to arrive on September 8 on both Android and iOS platforms. The update will bring the much awaited Erangel 2.0 classic map. As per the teasers, Erangel 2.0 update will overhaul the overall graphics of the classic map. It brings some aesthetics changes and some design improvements to the overall game and environment. Sosnovka Military Base, the Mansion, Mylta Power and other areas have been overhauled for Erangel 2.0. The Ultra-HD graphics mode is also expected with Ernagel 2.0.
