Pokémon Go Ultra Beast list, all current and upcoming Ultra Beasts

Ultra Beasts were added to Pokémon Go during the global and in-person events during Go Fest 2022.

If you’re not familiar with them, Ultra Beasts are extradimensional Pokémon that come from Ultra Space through Ultra Wormholes, and were first introduced during the main series of games in Sun and Moon. Just like in Sun and Moon, Nihilego was the first Ultra Beast to appear in Pokémon Go.

As Ultra Beasts were limited to Go Fest events at launch, they are some of the rarest Pokémon in the game, having only been available from limited-time raids and Special Research for Go Fest 2022 ticket-holders.

Ultra Beast Pokémon released in Pokémon Go so far

The first Ultra Beast – Nihilego – was released as part of the global Go Fest 2022 event in June 2022.

Three others were then introduced as part of in-person Go Fest events in the following months – Pheromosa, Buzzwole and Xurkitree – as part of Special Research quests in Berlin, Seattle and Sapporo respectively. These then appeared as part of the global Go Fest finale event on Saturday, 27th August, 2022, just ahead of Season of Go finale.

From there, more continue to trickle through the wormholes – with Celesteela and Kartana in Southern and Northern Hemispheres respectively as part of the Season of Light.

It took two years for the next Ultra Beast to arrive in March 2024 during the World of Wonders season in the form of Poipole. This Ultra Beast can be caught by completing the first quest step of the World of Wonders season-long special research quest. At the time of writing, it can not be evolved into its evolution Naganadel.

Below, you’ll find the full list of all released Ultra Beast Pokémon in Pokémon Go so far:

Everything else we know about Ultra Beasts in Pokémon Go

Although you can use any Poké Ball to catch Ultra Beasts in Pokémon Go, Beast Balls were added to the in-person Go Fest 2022 events. These new Poké Balls are designed specifically to help catch Ultra Beast Pokémon, and feature a very sci-fi design about them.

Despite their unique appearance, in raids they essentially act the same as Premier Balls during the catch phase – with a limited number available based on your prowess during the battle.
