Pokemon GO Lunar Year Event Begins, Get Bonuses and a Chance to Catch Shiny Spoink

When it comes to the popular game Pokemon GO, 2019 has been a great year. Well, since it has not been long since the Lunar New Year, in order to rejoice the Year of the Pig, the Pokemon game shall be conducting an event. The best part is that the theme of the event is zodiac. According to the announcement made by The Pokemon Company, this zodiac event has become live and shall get over the next week on 13th February, 1 PM PST.

Well, if you are thinking about the older event that brought back Kyogre and Groudon, well it has come to a stop.

As it seems fit, the event focuses on a carefully selected group of Pokemon that correspond to the dozen Chinese Zodiac animals. These characters are as follows:

  • Rattata
  • Buneary
  • Electabuzz
  • Dratini
  • Poochyena
  • Ekans
  • Torchic
  • Mareep
  • Pontya
  • Miltank
  • Spoink
  • Mankey

The spawning rates of the above-mentioned Pokemon will increase during the course of the event. As a part of the added bonus for the Year of the Pig, the game players shall get a chance to find a shiny version of Spoink. They shall also receive doubled XP when they catch and evolve Pokemon. When players trade Pokemon, the chances of them bagging a lucky Pokemon shall increase.

Even though doubling the XP and better spawning rates sound great, as per some game fans, the most outstanding segment of the new event is that it is a substitute for the Pokemon zodiac calendar.

Soon after the end of the ongoing Pokemon GO event, the game developer shall conduct the subsequent Community Day. The next event shall be taking place on 16th February, and it shall be featuring Swinub, a dual-type Ice/Ground Pokémon. Gamers shall also get thrice the regular amount of Stardust throughout the February’s Community Day event.

The game developer, Niantic, freshly rolled out the next Gen 4 wave for Pokemon GO, which included Sinnoh Stone evolutions.
