Poco Becomes an Independent Brand in India

Xiaomi’s sub-brand, Poco has become an independent brand in India. Xiaomi introduced Poco brand in the year 2018 in the Indian technology market. Poco’s first smartphone was Poco F1 which became the popular phone in the mid-range category.

Poco’s India Chief, Manu Kumar Jain has announced this information officially on Twitter. He has shared a tweet regarding Poco’s independent operations in the country. Unfortunately, the Chield didn’t reveal anything much about the company’s future plan in the country. What we knew after this tweet is we have got a new smartphone brand in the country.

What we know so far about the company is that they are currently working on a new smartphone i.e. the Successor edition of the existing Poco F1 smartphone. They will soon make an announcement on the company’s future plan very soon.

Poco F1 has gained massive popularity in the market due to its high performance and great features. The phone also tops the chart of the best selling mid-range smartphones in the year 2018.

If we talk about the pricing of the Oppo F1 smartphone, it was quite high compared to the other brands but still somehow managed to gain popularity as expected. Xiaomi didn’t stop launching their new smartphones in between. Still, Poco’s market share was going upwards which is why Xiaomi has decided to separate the brand for India. Today’s announcement was all about the independent operations of the company in the Indian region.

Poco has been now separated from Xiaomi, it would be interesting to see how the company will do its operations in the market. And whether it will stand out in the market or not. What we can expect from Poco is the same strategy to kill down the premium-end market by providing all the features and configurations in the mid-rangers.

The Poco F1’s successor edition would definitely bring new changes in the market as it will be the first smartphone from the new company in the market. Poco’s officials will soon share more information about their future plans and smartphones. Stay tuned with us!
