There’s momentum in the VR/AR space and Pimax is betting on this to entice potential new customers. After revealing its line of new products last month during the Pimax Frontier event, the VR-focused company has introduced a new ‘Trial Payment, Final Payment’ model this week. This allows potential customers to make a partial payment for a desired Pimax VR headset, trial it for 15 days and decide whether to fully purchase the device or return it. Those who employ this new model will benefit from complimentary shipping as well as Zero-Cost Return Assurance. Should you decide to return the headset, a full refund will be issued, provided that the product is returned in perfect condition.

Pricing will vary based on the headset’s model; but taking the $799 Crystal Light (Local Dimming Only Version) as an example, the trial payment amounts to $599 and the potential buyer has up to 15 days to decide whether they want to keep the headset and pay $200 in that case. Speaking of the Crystal Light, Pimax has also announced that orders for the VR headset are open and units are expected to start shipping by the end of May.

Pimax’s new payment model will be first available in the U.S., Canada, European Union, the UK, Australia and New Zealand. More details can be found via the official announcement.
