Pawns Expected to Be Much Smarter in Dragon’s Dogma 2, Which Boasts a Map Four Times the Size of the Original

At last month’s highly-anticipated PlayStation Showcase, Capcom unveiled footage of their upcoming action-RPG Dragon’s Dogma 2, leaving fans hungry for more. Luckily, at today’s Capcom Showcase, a few more details were revealed by Dragon’s Dogma mastermind, Hideaki Itsuno, along with some additional footage to whet gamers’ appetites.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 will feature the return of the Pawn system, where gamers join forces with AI-controlled partners. This time around, the AI-controlled party members will be more intelligent, even able to guide gamers towards in-game secrets. Furthermore, players will have the ability to customize their main pawn, in addition to selecting two supporting pawns.

The world of Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be approximately four times larger than its predecessor, offering players a more open-ended, systemic experience, allowing them to choose how to approach challenges similar to the styles of Dark Souls or Zelda BotW/TotK.

Capcom’s esteemed reputation for creating excellent sequels is set to continue with Dragon’s Dogma 2. The game will feature two new main characters, Ulrika, a highly skilled bow-wielder with a deep connection to the Arisen, and Nadinia, a high priestess of the Beastren, who will make her debut into the series.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be available on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5. Capcom has not yet announced the release date for the game. Stay tuned for further updates.

If you’re not familiar with Dragon’s Dogma 2, it is a single-player, narrative-driven action-RPG that offers players the freedom to choose their own vocation, appearance, and party while tackling challenges and exploring the game’s deep, explorable fantasy world. The game is further elevated by the latest in graphics, AI, and physics, creating a truly immersive gaming experience.

As always, don’t forget to share this exciting news with your friends and fellow gamers.
