Original Wesker from Resident Evil makes long-awaited return in new documentary

Resident Evil has made a thrilling announcement – Pablo Kuntz, the original voice actor for Wesker, is making his grand return after 27 years. Kuntz, who brought life to Wesker in the first Resident Evil game and subsequent titles like Code Veronica, Resident Evil 4 Remake, and Dead by Daylight, will now serve as the narrator for a new Resident Evil documentary. This documentary delves into the creation and downfall of a tie-in Resident Evil film originally conceptualized by the legendary George A. Romero, known for his expertise in the zombie genre. It’s clear that the return of the original Wesker is bound to ignite feelings of nostalgia and excitement among fans of Resident Evil and Capcom.

Choosing a favorite line from Wesker is no easy task. The iconic phrases like “wow, what a mansion!” or “I’m sorry for my lack of manners, but I’m not used to escorting men” have forever etched the character’s memorable presence in the survival game series. Wesker exudes sleaze, smarm, and a menacing aura, making encounters with him in the Spencer estate truly unforgettable.

The resurgence of Wesker is occurring in George A. Romero’s upcoming documentary film titled “George A. Romero’s Resident Evil.” This documentary explores Romero’s plans to create a movie tied to Capcom’s groundbreaking horror series. Pablo Kuntz, who voiced Wesker long before D.C. Douglas or Connor Fogarty, is set to lend his voice as the narrator for this thrilling documentary.

Kuntz recorded Wesker’s lines at the age of 24 while traveling in Japan. In the live-action cutscenes, Eric Pirius portrayed the treacherous STARS leader, with Kuntz synchronizing his dialogue.

While the release date of the documentary is yet to be announced, it promises to include archival footage and previously unseen material, shedding light on George A. Romero’s rejected script for a Resident Evil film back in 1998, ultimately declined by Capcom.

Interestingly, Wesker’s return isn’t the only exciting comeback from the original Resident Evil cast. Charlie Kraslavsky, who portrayed the iconic Chris Redfield, will also make an appearance in the upcoming game, Daymare 1994. This game pays homage to the classic Resident Evil series.

All this talk of classics and the ’90s has certainly got us in the mood for some nostalgic gaming. If you’re craving the best old games, you might want to explore the greatest zombie games that have made their way to PC.
