Oppo’s New Patent Leaks Shows A Side Elevation Front Camera

Oppo and Vivo were the first companies to bring the trend of pop-up selfie camera in the world of smartphones. Now, the Chinese smartphone maker Oppo is planning to re-innovate the design of the pop-selfie camera by changing the placement of the camera from the top of the panel to the side.

In a post published on Chinese microblogging site Weibo, a patent of Oppo shown with a side elevated front camera. If this leak proves to be true, this design is completely innovative. However, it looks quite weird in terms of look.

As shown in the image below, the side elevated selfie camera is fixed in the rear camera module just like we have seen in the Oppo F11 Pro, but this time in a weird placement.

As from a few other images shared in the same post, it suggests that the same phone will feature a speaker grill, microUSB port as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom of the panel.

However, on looking closely at the images, there is no branding or anything that suggests the image or patent to be real. So, it might be a fan-made design or just a render, So, it is advised to take this leak as a grain of salt.
