Oppo A83 with 5.7″ HD+ FullView Display & Face Unlock launched in India for Rs 13,990


Oppo on Wednesday has launched a new mid-range smartphone dubbed as Oppo A83 in India. The smartphone comes with the price tag of Rs. 13,990, and will be available to purchase starting from January 20, 2018, from both offline and online retail channels. It will be made available in Champagne Gold and Black colour options.

To recall, the Oppo A83 was first launched in China back in December last year. The main highlights of the Oppo A83 are it’s 18:9 fullView display and Face Unlock feature. Oppo claims that its face recognition can be as fast as 0.18 seconds.

Oppo A83 Specifications

The smartphone runs on Color OS 3.2-based on Android 7.1 Nougat operating system and sports a 5.7” HD+ (720×1440 pixels) LCD FullView with 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by 2.5GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P23 processor coupled with Mali-G71 MP2 GPU. It offers 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 256GB via microSD card.

For photography, the Oppo A83 comes with a 13MP rear camera with LED flash. On the front, there is an 8MP front camera for selfies and video calls. The camera also equipped with a new facial recognition technology, it can unlock the phone within 0.18 seconds using 128 unique feature points on the user’s face.

The Oppo A83 is fueled by a 3090mAh battery. Connectivity options include Dual-SIM support, 4GVoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 /b/g/n, GPS, Micro-USB, Bluetooth 4.2, and 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors on board include accelerometer, proximity sensor, and compass. It measures 150.5×73.1×7.7mm and weight is 143 grams.
