OnePlus Watch may not run on Google’s Wear OS, claims tipster

OnePlus has been known to be working on its first smartwatch for a while now and rumours about this upcoming device have been doing rounds.
The latest rumour about the alleged OnePlus Watch is that it is not going to run on Google’s Wear OS operating system for wearables.
This information has been claimed by tipster Max Jambor, who in the past has been right about past OnePlus, on Twitter. However, it does seem a little surprising given the close association OnePlus has with Google for its software updates on its handsets.

Back in October, Jambor had also speculated that “there are some complications with the production or software development” of the OnePlus Watch due to which its launch has been delayed.
Prior to that, a report by the XDA Developers had claimed that a device with the name of “OnePlus Watch” was spotted on Indonesia’s regulatory body’s IMDA website. As per the listing, the device has been listed as a “Wearable Watch” name with model number W301GB. The listing showed that the wearable device will run on Google’s WearOS operating system and powered by a Snapdragon Wear chipset.
