BBK-owned smartphone brand OnePlus is soon set to launch its first smartwatch, which is tipped to be called the OnePlus Watch.
According to a report by the XDA Developers, a device with the name of “OnePlus Watch” has been spotted on Indonesia’s regulatory body’s IMDA website.
As per the listing, the device has been listed as a “Wearable Watch” name with model number W301GB. The listing also reveals that the wearable device will run on Google’s WearOS operating system and powered by a Snapdragon Wear chipset.
Incidentally, this isn’t the first time an alleged OnePlus Watch has come to light.
Last year too a report by Phonearena claimed that the OnePlus Watch is in the works “and it’s almost ready for primetime, too.”
This report also came with a sketch of the alleged OnePlus watch that appeared back in 2016 when the rumours of the OnePlus Watch first appeared once.
This year, the company has already ventured into a new product category with the launch of its first truly wireless earbuds — OnePlus Buds. Launched at Rs 4,990, these buds come with a claimed battery life of 30 hours and with the charging case.
Meanwhile, the company is rumoured to launch a budget smartphone in India. Two separate leaks about upcoming OnePlus smartphones show budget processors.
Back in July, a report by XDA Developers claimed that there is evidence that OnePlus is working on launching “at least” one smartphone that is going to come powered by Qualcomm’s new 5G Snapdragon 690 processor.
