OnePlus rolls out new OxygenOS update to OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro: Here’s what is new


BBK-owned smartphone brand OnePlus has rolled out a new software update to its flagship smartphone — OnePlus 8 series. The company has rolled out the OxygenOS 10.5.13 for OnePlus 8 Pro and OxygenOS 10.5.11 for OnePlus 8 as an incremental update worldwide, including India.
As part of this update, the company is rolling out August-level Android Security Patch and other system-level changes as well as camera upgrades.
The software update will be over-the-air (OTA) and expected to be rolled out in a phased manner. It should reach all the users of the OnePlus 8 Pro in a few days.
Here is a complete changelog of the update:
* System
– Fixed the overlapping character display issue with Ambient display
– Fixed known issues and improved system stability
– Updated Android Security Patch to 2020.08
* Camera
– Optimized shooting effect with front camera
Meanwhile, just last week OnePlus has started teasing the upcoming features that it will be rolling out to its users as part of its next major OxygenOS update. This OS update will be custom-based and will run on top of the upcoming Android 11, which Google is set to release soon.
As per a report by 9to5Google, OnePlus has touted three major domains of the upcoming operating system update. The report talks about the teaser that was shared on Weibo by the company as well as by OnePlus CEO Pete Lau on Twitter.
OnePlus is said to offer a major UI design that may appear like Samsung’s OneUI. Also, it is said to offer improved dark mode and lastly, the smartphone brand has also shown multiple designs for its always-on display.
