Last month, OnePlus 8 Pro was reported having “green tint” and ”black crush” issues from users on social media. Looking forward to this issue, the company issued a statement acknowledging the “green tint” and “black crush” display issues on the newly launched OnePlus 8 Pro. Soon after that, OnePlus shipped new updates that allegedly fixed the display issues.
However, even after installing the latest updates, some users on the web reported that the display problems are still there. And now, a Reddit user on OnePlus Community has pointed out that an OnePlus support executive has acknowledged the “black crush” issue as a “hardware defect” and the company is offering options including repair, refund, or a replacement. However, the company didn’t officially address this issue, and so, information about OnePlus 8 Pro’s replacement/refund policy is still awaited.
According to users on the OnePlus Community forums, the OnePlus 8 Pro showed a green color hue on the display when its brightness was reduced. Similarly, the phone reported another problem while fixing the green tint issue. Users claimed that after disabling the DC Dimming option to fix the green tint, they were able to spot the black crush problem that resulted in some grainy-pixelated frames.
In the last month, OnePlus tried solving the reported display issues on the OnePlus 8 Pro with multiple software updates. The company rolled out OxygenOS 10.5.5 and OxygenOS 10.5.6 updates. But still, the display issues are still being problematic for some users. And now, the claim made by the Reddit user has put OnePlus in a dubious condition where more users are likely to ask for a repair, refund, or a replacement. Still, we are waiting for an official statement from OnePlus on this issue.
