After tons of rumors and leaks, OnePlus has finally launched its latest flagship series, OnePlus 8 series that includes OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro. This new series came as a successor to the OnePlus 7T series. The new OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro comes with 5G support and comes with a hole-punch display. Both of the phones share almost similar specifications but with some differences to each other. Let’s take an individual look at both of these to get better detail of them.
OnePlus 8 Pro Specifications
The all-new OnePlus 8 Pro features a 6.78-inch QHD+ (1440×3168 pixels) Fluid AMOLED display along with up to 120Hz refresh rate, 19.8:9 aspect ratio. Furthermore, the display is protected by a 3D Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The display at OnePlus 8 Pro also features a 240Hz touch sampling rate and a peak brightness of 1300 nits. It also features a 10-bit color panel and an HDR10+ rating.
Under the hood, this phone is powered by the top-of-the-line octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC which is paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM. For media and storage, OnePlus 8 Pro comes with up to 256GB of UFS 3.0 which can’t be expanded further via a microSD card.
In the optics department, OnePlus 8 Pro sports a quad-rear camera setup that includes a 48-megapixel primary Sony IMX689 sensor with an f/1.78 lens that has both optical image stabilization (OIS) and electronic image stabilization (EIS) support. There is also an 8-megapixel secondary sensor that has an f/2.44 telephoto lens and OIS support, paired with a 48-megapixel tertiary sensor that includes an f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle lens. At last, there is a 5-megapixel “Color Filter” camera sensor along with an f/2.4 lens. This Color Filter sensor is to bring artistic lighting effects and filters in the photos.
At the front, OnePlus 8 Pro carries a 16-megapixel Sony IMX471 sensor with an f/2.45 lens and 1.0-micron pixel size which sits inside the notch. The rear camera module offers 3x hybrid support and 4K video recording at 30/ 60fps.
Apart from this, OnePlus 8 Pro runs on the latest Android 10 with OxygenOS on top. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.1, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. Sensors on board include an accelerometer, ambient light, gyroscope, flicker detect sensor, front RGB sensor, laser sensor, magnetometer, and a proximity sensor. In addition to that, there is also an in-display fingerprint sensor.
Last but not the least, OnePlus 8 Pro is fuelled by a massive 4,510mAh battery that supports Warp Charge 30T (5V/ 6A) and Warp Charge 30 Wireless. It also has reverse wireless charging support. The phone also comes with dual stereo speakers that support Dolby Atmos technology and offers Audio 3D and Audio Zoom features. Besides, this phone also comes with an upgraded Haptic Vibration engine that is said to deliver 11 percent more powerful vibrating effects over its predecessors.
OnePlus 8 Specifications
On the other hand, OnePlus 8 features a 6.55-inch full-HD+ (1080×2400 pixels) Fluid AMOLED display that has up to 90Hz refresh rate, 20:9 aspect ratio. Similar to the top model, the display on OnePlus 8 is also protected with a 3D Corning Gorilla Glass protection.
Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC which is paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM. Additionally, the phone comes with up to 256GB of UFS 3.0 onboard storage that can not be expanded further.
In the camera department, the OnePlus 8 sports a triple rear camera setup that includes a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 primary sensor with an f/1.75 lens, 2-megapixel secondary sensor with an f/2.4 macro lens, and a 16-megapixel tertiary sensor with an f/2.2 lens. At the front, there is a 16-megapixel Sony IMX471 sensor with an f/2.45 lens. Similar to OnePlus 8 Pro, this model also supports 4K video recording at 30/ 60fps.

OnePlus 8 Pro, OnePlus 8 Price, and Availability
As for the price, the OnePlus 8 Pro price is set at $899 (approx Rs. 68,400) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage option, whereas its 12GB RAM + 256GB storage model carries a price tag of $999 (approx Rs. 76,000). It will be available in Glacial Green, Onyx Black, and Ultramarine Blue color options. As for the availability, OnePlus 8 Pro will be available to buy starting April 21 in the UK and other European regions, and April 29 in the US.
On the other hand, OnePlus 8 price is set at $699 (approx Rs. 53,200) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, while its 12GB RAM + 256GB storage option is priced at $799 (approx Rs. 60,800). The phone will be available in Glacial Green, Interstellar Glow, and Onyx Black color options. Similar to ON8 Pro, this model will also available to purchase starting April 21 in the UK and other European regions, and April 29 in the US.
At the online-only launch event, OnePlus has also announced its latest, more affordable wireless headphones, the OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z, priced at $49.95 (roughly Rs. 3,800).
