OnePlus 8 Lite Live Photo Leak Shows Triple Rear Cameras Instead of Rumored Dual Cameras

In 2020, OnePlus is expected to unveil three new smartphones instead of just two (previously rumored) as the third smartphone in the row is rumored to be the OnePlus 8 Lite. Just a month before, we have seen some leaks based on CAD renders of the phone, and now, we have live photos of OnePlus 8 Lite that surfaced online.

In the leaked live photos, we can see the dummy of OnePlus 8 Lite from the back as well as the front panel. The live images show the same design of the phone as we had seen in the previous render leak, however, instead of dual cameras in the last CAD render, we have a triple rear camera setup in this fresh leak.

As seen in the new set of images come via Slashleak, a whole bunch of dummy models of OnePlus 8 Lite are stacked in two rows in a plastic container. The thing that recognizes the bunch of smartphones as OnePlus is the logo of the company that can be seen clearly on one of the models. On the same phone, there is a triple rear camera module that sits in the top-left corner of the back panel with an LED flashlight sitting just in the right of the camera module.

These phones could be dummy models or concepts that were created in the designing process for the company’s upcoming lineup. The blue color phone with the OnePlus logo is reportedly said to be OnePlus 8 Lite since the triple camera modules look very similar to the render we saw from Onleaks last month, though that render had shown dual rear cameras.

Since the picture of the box has been taken by digitally zooming it, the clarity of the picture has been reduced. Even though we made out some details from the image. As we can see, one of the smartphones in the containers has a wide notch at the front that indicates an older variant of OnePlus as the OnePlus 8 Lite is rumored to come with a hole-punch display.

As for the specifications, there is no details revealed by the company. However, if we consider some talks on social media and leaksters, the OnePlus 8 Lite is said to come with a 20:9 aspect ratio AMOLED display with full-HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. Inside the hood, the OnePlus 8 Lite is rumored to be powered by a MediaTek’s Dimensity 1000 chipset, which is its flagship 5G SoC announced just last month. The phone is also expected to come with upto 8 GB of LPDDR4x RAM.

As we give a closer look at the dummy model, there is no such cutting for a fingerprint sensor that suggests that the phone might come with an in-display fingerprint sensor. Coming to the camera department, the OnePlus 8 Lite is expected to come with a primary sensor of either 48 or 64-megapixel, followed by a wide-angle camera and perhaps a sensor for depth calculation. OnePlus could ditch the telephoto lens on the ‘Lite’ model to keep costs down.

OnePlus 8 Lite is expected to be fuelled by a 4,000 mAh battery with 30W fast charging. It is also said to come with an IP53 rating for water resistance. As for the pricing, the OnePlus 8 Lite is expected to launch at a price range between $430 (approx Rs. 30,700) to $470 (approx Rs. 33,700). However, the final details on pricing will be revealed later by the company itself.

Apart from this, OnePlus will also have a presence at CES 2020, where it will be showcasing its Concept One smartphone with an “invisible camera” and color-shifting glass. As of now, there is no clearance whether the company will showcase the OnePlus 8 series models or not, but the Concept One could give us an idea of how OnePlus 8 will look like.
