OnePlus 7 is just two weeks to be launched officially on May 14, but day-after-day, the details of this phone is continuously surfacing online. We have seen in the recent leak that OnePlus 7 will be coming in three variants, OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro, and OnePlus 7 5G variant. Also, we have already seen that the OnePlus 7 Pro will feature a triple rear camera setup but today, a new report from Wired confirms that the OnePlus 7 Pro will come with a 3x optical zoom.
OnePlus said that they wanted to make sure the camera lens did not stick out too much and so, in the OnePlus 7 Pro, they have taken user inputs and now finally revealing this zoom capability in the OnePlus 7 Pro. The 3x zoom in the OnePlus 7 Pro is one of the advanced optical zooms with the high details and low noise.
In addition to the 3x optical zoom, OnePlus 7 pro comes with 10x digital zoom similar to that of Samsung Galaxy S10 and S10+. However, the camera interface is similar to that of OnePlus 6T’s camera interface. Images that were taken from the OnePlus 7 Pro with full zoom seems to have good contrast and details. However, they were not as good as shots taken from Huawei P30. The report also confirms that there is no ToF sensor on the 7 Pro that is used for AR and portrait modes.
However, in comparison to the OnePlus 6T, the HDR implementation of OnePlus 7 Pro is far better than the predecessor. Also, the company has finally rectified its HDR problems in OnePlus 7 Pro. In addition to that, OnePlus 7 Pro doesn’t include AI modes and so the portrait mode in the 7 Pro is more natural and is similar to that of shots taken from a professional camera.
Apart from this, OnePlus 7 Pro is also said to have revamped the Nightscape to capture night shots. However, for the initial stage, this mode is quite slow and takes 5 to 10 seconds to capture an image. As of now, only this much of details are available now and more to be revealed soon as far as we move closer to the launch date.
