OnePlus has today launched its latest flagship smartphone – the OnePlus 6T as the successor to the OnePlus 6 at an event held in New York. The main highlight of the smartphone is the in-display fingerprint scanner. The company has claimed that it is the fastest in-screen fingerprint sensor in the world. OnePlus claims that in-display fingerprint sensor unlocks at just 0.34 seconds. Other highlights include a larger battery, a larger display, a smaller notch, and improved low-light photography,
Similar to its predecessor, OnePlus 6T sports an all-glass body. The dual cameras on the rear are now placed in the top middle position along with a dual LED flash. On the front, we can see a water drop notch display and bottom chin got even slimmer now. The alert slider placed on the right edge, while the volume rockers stay on the left like the previous OnePlus phones. It will be made available in Mirror Black and Midnight Black colour options.
OnePlus 6T Pricing and Availability
The OnePlus 6T comes with the price tag of $549 (Rs. 40,300 approx.) for the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage variant, $579 (Rs. 42,500 approx.) for the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage variant and $629(Rs. 46,200 approx.) for the top end 8GB RAM with 256GB storage option. The smartphone will be made available from November 1 in North America and November 6 in Europe.
As per the “Half off offer”, T-Mobile is offering a $300 off the 6T when you trade-in an eligible device (including all OnePlus devices released so far).
One Plus 6T Specifications
The OnePlus 6T runs on OxygenOS based on Android 9.0 Pie operating system. It sports a 6.4” Full HD+ (2340×1080 pixels) AMOLED 19.5:9 display with the protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 6 on top. The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 609 GPU. It 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM with 128GB of UFS 2.1 internal storage, 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM with 128GB of UFS 2.1 internal storage and 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM with 256GB of UFS 2.1 internal storage. There will be no MicroSD card support for expanding the storage.
For photography, the OnePlus 6T comes equipped with a dual rear camera setup with a combination of a 16MP Sony IMX376K primary sensor (1.22µm pixel size, OIS, EIS, and f/1.7 aperture) and 20MP Sony IMX 519 secondary sensor (1.0µm pixel size and f/1.7 aperture) for depth information. It can record 4K videos at 60 fps and 720p super slow motion videos at 480 fps. There is also a new nightscape mode that enhances the performance of low light photography, users can take photos in 2 seconds in Night mode. The new Nightscape mode will be available for OnePlus 6 later this week. On the front, it has a 16MP Sony IMX 371 sensor with f/2.0 aperture and 1.0μm pixel size. The front camera also Studio Lighting mode for portraits along with Portrait Mode using a new AI algorithm to give a depth-of-field effect.
The OnePlus 6T is fuelled by a 3700mAh battery with Dash Charge technology, which gives a day’s power in half hour. Connectivity options include Dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C port. Sensors on board include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, gyroscope, and proximity sensor. The smartphone doesn’t feature a headphone jack, which makes this the first OnePlus phone to ship without this feature. It measures 157.5 x 74.8 x 8.2 mm and weighs 185 grams.
