OnePlus 5T Announced with 6.0” 18:9 Full Optic AMOLED Display and Improved Cameras


After being rumored from the last couple of weeks, OnePlus 5T is finally announced with 6.0” 18:9 Full Optic AMOLED Display improved cameras over its predecessor. Following the industry trend, OnePlus also brings the 18:9 display aspect ratio while its footprint is similar to the OnePlus 5.

It sports an Anodized Aluminum unibody with curved Antennas on the top and bottom rear of the device. It retains the dual speakers as well as the 3.5mm audio jack on the bottom panel. OnePlus 5T also has the notifications slider similar to its predecessors. Users can set the phone to silent, do not disturb and ring profiles by using this slider. OnePlus also added the new Face Unlock feature to unlock the device that triggers in under 0.4 seconds, It uses 100 facial features and works in the dark too. The fingerprint scanner is now located on the back.

Talking about specifications, The OnePlus 5 runs OxygenOS based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system, company promise to bring Oreo update in early 2018. It sports 6.0” Full-HD+ (2160×1080 pixels) Full Optic AMOLED Display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by 2.45GHz Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC coupled with Adreno 540 GPU. It offers 6GB/8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB/128GB UFS2.1 Storage.

Lets now talk about the camera which company is focusing a lot, OnePlus 5 T sports a  dual rear camera with a combination of a 16MP main camera (Sony IMX398 sensor, 1.12-micron pixels, f/1.7 aperture, 27.22mm focal length) and 20MP secondary camera (IMX 376K sensor, 1.0 μm, f/1.7 aperture, 27.22mm focal length) with dual-LED flash. It offers better portrait photos using a custom algorithm, with its intelligent pixel technology, it combines 4 pixels into one to capture more light and give better lowlight photography.  On the front, there is a 16MP camera with IMX 371 sensor, 1.0μm, and f/2.0 aperture.

It comes with dual SIM dual standby and supports 34 LTE bands. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, 2×2 MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS, GLONASS, 3.5mm Audio port, and USB 2.0 Type-C port. Sensors on board the OnePlus 5T include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, gyroscope, and a proximity sensor.

OnePlus 5 is powered by a 3300 mAh battery with Dash Charging support. The company claims that it can charge 19 percent of battery with 6 minutes of charge. The smartphone priced at $499 for 64GB variant and $599for 128GB variant, while pricing in India starts from 32,990. The smartphone goes on sale November 21 For the US, Europe, and India as well, while China needing to wait until November 28.
