OnePlus 5 Start Receiving Oreo-based OxygenOS Open Beta 2


In November, OnePlus has released the first Open Beta build based on Android 8.0 Oreo for OnePlus 5. Now the company has rolled out the second beta build for the smartphone. The Open Beta 2 build comes with a host of bug fixes along with camera app, file manager, and system improvements and is currently available for all beta users to download and install.

It also brings with it updated Android security patch to November, the second beta brings with it improvements to Reading Mode, Bluetooth audio, the user interface and vibration. Fixes widget and shortcut issues in the launcher of the smartphone. Camera app improvements include changes in its user-interface. There are also speed improvements while deleting a large number of files and the addition of the f4v video format. Also, a reboot issue when using picture-in-picture and bugs related to parallel apps has also been fixed.

“We are super excited to announce another Open Beta Program for the OnePlus 5 today! This Open Beta build based on Android 8.0 for the OnePlus 5 is available for download now,” Teja Naga Bharan, a OnePlus staff member at a OnePlus user forum, said.

While the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T have already received Android 8.0 Oreo, the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T are excepted to be updated to the latest flavour of Android sometime in early 2018.
