The upcoming NBA 2K24 for PC will not be on par with the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions, as it has been in the past. Unfortunately, the PC edition once again falls behind its current-gen counterparts and lacks several features.
On the official NBA 2K24 website’s features section, a new animation system called ProPlay is introduced, but it won’t be available for the PC version. The excerpt from the ProPlay description mentions that it provides authentic animations and movements for a generational leap in on-court NBA action, but it excludes PC as a supported platform.
Similarly, the MyCareer mode in NBA 2K24 for PC will only include the Neighborhood portion, and cross-play will be absent, which is exclusive to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The PC versions of NBA 2K games have consistently been missing features found in their current-gen counterparts since the release of PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. This has been a source of frustration for the PC community, as expressed on Reddit. The Madden series faced a similar situation, but this year’s installment has brought parity across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, much to the satisfaction of fans.
NBA 2K24 will be available on PS4, Xbox One, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC starting from September 8, 2023.
