Nubia Z18 Launched with 8GB RAM, AI Dual Rear Cameras: Price, Specifications and More


ZTE’s sub-brand Nubia has today launched its latest flagship smartphone – The  Nubia Z18, In China. The main highlight of the smartphone is the industry’s latest trend waterdrop-shaped display notch design that offers a 91.8% screen-to-body ratio. It also packs the top-notch specifications found on any other flagship devices. It sports all-metal Aluminum alloy frame and comes with 3D curved glass on the front and rear.

Nubia Z18 Price and Availability

The Nubia Z18 comes with the price tag of Yuan 2,799 ($ 409/ Rs. 29,350 approx.) for the 6GB RAM with 64GB storage variant, and Yuan 3,299 ($ 482/ Rs. 34,590 approx.) for the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage option. There is also a Limited Edition Van Gogh Starlight Collector’s Edition that is priced at Yuan 3,599 ($ 526/ Rs. 37,740 approx.). The smartphone will be available to purchase in China via company’s official website along with Jingdong Mall, Suning Easy to buy, and Tianmao Mall starting from September 11. It will be made available in Deep Dark Night and Nebula Red colour options.

Nubia Z18 Specifications

The Nubia Z18 runs on Nubia UI 6.1 based on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system. It sports a 5.99” FHD+ (1080×2160 pixels) 18:9 In-Cell display with 96 percent colour saturation and 96 percent NTSC colour gamut. The smartphone is powered by a 2.8GHz Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 630 GPU. It offers 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM with 64GB of UFS 2.1 internal storage and 8GB of LPDDR4RAM with 128GB UFS 2.1 internal storage. The internal storage cannot be expanded any further.

For photography, the Nubia Z18 comes equipped with a dual rear camera setup with a combination of a 24MP primary sensor with f/1.6 aperture, PDAF, OIS, EIS and a 16MP secondary sensor with f/1.6 aperture and dual-tone LED flash support.  It has AI scene recognition that can recognise 500 scenes. On the front, it has an 8MP selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture, wide-angle lens. The front camera is capable to recognize up to 106 facial points to unlock the device and also lights up the screen when you lift the phone to unlock the phone quickly.

The Nubia Z18 is fuelled by a 3,450mAh battery with NeoCharge 2.5 fast charging technology. Connectivity options include Dual-SIM support,  4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, and USB Type-C port. Sensors onboard include light sensing, acceleration, compass, and gyroscope. There is also a fingerprint scanner at the back. It measures 148.58×72.54×8.55mm and weighs 172 grams.
