Nubia V18 with 6.01” FHD+ display, Face Unlock Goes Official


ZTE’s sub-brand, Nubia, has today launched its latest mid-range Nubia V18 smartphone in China. The smartphone comes with the price tag of 1299 yuan (S$ 205/ Rs. 13,370 approx.) and will available for pre-order from today at 5 PM local time, it goes on sale from March 29th at 10 AM local time. It will be available on the Nubia store,, and It comes in Black, Red, and Gold color options.

The Nubia V18 has a metal back with a U-design antenna line. It has a horizontally aligned camera module at the back, while it does look like it sports dual rear cameras; it is actually a single sensor. The signature red accent is also present and there is a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. On the front, it has reduced top and bottom bezels while the side bezels are ultra thin.

Talking about the specifications, the Nubia V18 runs on Android 7.1 Nougat operating system with Nubia UI 5.1 skin on top of it. It sports a 6.01” Full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) 18:9 display coated with 2.5D curved glass. It has an 86.25% screen-to-body ratio.  The smartphone is powered by a 2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. It offers 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.

For photography, the Nubia V18 comes with a 13MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF for fast focus in 0.1 seconds and LED flash support for better lowlight capturing. On the front, it has an 8MP 80° wide-angle selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture and beautify mode, it can also unlock the phone by scanning 106 facial recognition points.

The smartphone is fueled by a 4000mAh battery with NeoPower 3.0 fast charging and battery management technology. Connectivity options include Dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, GPS + GLONASS, 3.5mm audio jack,  and USB with OTG support. There is also a fingerprint scanner on the back. It measures 158.7x 75.5x 7.75mm and weight  170 grams.
