HMD Global has today launched its latest X-series smartphone – the Nokia X7 aka Nokia 7.1 Plus, in China. The main highlights of the smartphone include ZEISS branded dual rear cameras, 18.7:9 fullView display with a notch on top, and the pure Android operating system based on Android One program. This means that the device is certified by Google to provide an optimised Android experience with stock Android, and quick version updates. It features a series-6000 magnesium alloy frame sandwiched between glass panels on the front and rear sides.
Nokia X7 Pricing and Availability
The X7 comes with the price tag of Yuan 1,699 ($245/ Rs. 21,300 approx.) for the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage option, Yuan 1,999 ($289/ Rs. 21,300 approx.) for the 6GB RAM with 64GB storage variant, and lastly Yuan 2,499 ($361/ Rs. approx.) for the top end 6GB RAM with 128GB storage option. The Nokia X7 will be available to purchase starting from October 23. It will be made available in Dark Blue, Red, Silver and Midnight Black colour options. There is no confirmation about the internal availability of the smartphone yet.
Nokia X7 Specifications
The Nokia X7 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system which is said to be upgradable to upgradable to Android 9.0 (Pie). It sports a 6.18” Full HD+ (2246 x 1080 pixels) 18.7:9 IPS LCD display with 500 nits brightness and 96% NTSC Color Gamut. The smartphone is powered by a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 616 GPU. As mentioned above, it offers 4GB of RAM with 64GB of internal storage and 6GB of RAM with 64GB/128GB of internal storage options. The internal storage can be further expanded up to 400GB via microSD card.
For photography, the Nokia X7 comes equipped with a dual rear camera setup with a combination of a 12MP primary Sony IMX363 sensor with f/1.8 aperture, 1.4μm pixels, and a 13MP secondary sensor with f/2.2 aperture and dual-tone LED flash. The rear cameras are equipped with features like Optical Image Stabilization, dual PD autofocus, AI scene detection and optimized low-light photography. On the front, it has a 20MP selfie shooter with f/2.0 and AI features like beauty mode, portrait mode and studio lights, AI expressions and new dual-view mode.
The Nokia X7 is fuelled by a 3400mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging support. Connectivity options include Dual-SIM support, Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, 3.5mm audio jack and USB-C port. There is also a fingerprint scanner at the back. The phone measures 154.8×75.76×7.97 mm and weighs 185 grams.
