Nokia 7 with Glass Back and Snapdragon 630 SoC Launched in China


As we reported earlier, HMD has added a new smartphone in its portfolio, Nokia 7. The smartphone is officially launch today in China and will be available to purchase from October 24. Nokia 7 is priced at ¥2,499 (Rs 24, 731 approx) for 4GB RAM variant and ¥2,699 (Rs 26,710 approx) for 6GB RAM variant.

The main highlight of Nokia 7 is its premium 7000 series aluminum body with vacuum molded 3D Corning Gorilla Glass on back. Notably Nokia 7 is the first Android device from HMD Global to sport a glass back. Further more the Nokia 7 also features “bothie” camera that allows simultaneous capture from both the front and rear cameras. Nokia 7 also comes with IP54 certification, which means its splashproof essentially. The device will be offered in Gloss Black and Matte White color options.

Talking about the specifications, Nokia 7 runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system and sports a 5.2 Full-HD (1920×1080 pixels)IPS display with the protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The smartphone is powered by a 2.2GHz 14nm octa-core Snapdragon 630 SoC coupled with Adreno 508 GPU. It offers 4GB/6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage which can be further expanded up to 256GB via microSD card.

For photography, the Nokia 7 comes loaded with a 16MP primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture, dual-tone LED flash and PDFA. On the front, there is a 5MP secondary camera with an f/2.0 aperture   and 84-degree field-of-view. The Nokia 7 comes with “a Zeiss imaging experience” that includes the ability to capture what company calls “bothies”. Other camera features include geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama and HDR.

The Nokia 7 is fueled by a 3,000mAh non-removable battery with 18W fast charging support. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, LTE Cat.6, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, A-GPS, NFC, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. There is also a fingerprint scanner at the back. As of now the Nokia 7 is limited for China only, and we have no information about when (or if) the Nokia 7 will be sold in other countries.
