Nokia 5 New 3GB RAM Variant Launched in India


HMD Global has updated its mid-range Nokia 5 smartphone for Indian consumers. The Nokia 5 was originally launched with 2GB of RAM at the price tag of Rs. 12,499. Now it comes equipped with 3GB of RAM and the price for the new variant is Rs. 13,499.

Nokia 5 will be available exclusively on Flipkart for one week starting Tuesday, November 7. While Flipkart is currently listing a Jio-Nokia Additional Data offer on the smartphone, promising 5GB of extra 4G data on every recharge of Rs. 309 or above, limited to 10 recharges till August 31, 2018.

After the one week exclusive availability of Flipkart, from November 14, the smartphone will become available to buy via offline retail outlets across the country. The Nokia 5 3GB variant will be available in Matte Black and Tempered Blue colour options while the 2GB variant launched in Copper and Silver colours additionally.

To recall, the Nokia 5 features an all-metal design and sports a 5.2” HD IPS display protected with 2.5 Corning Gorilla Glass. Nokia 5 runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system and is powered by the  Snapdragon 430 SoC. Nokia 5 offers 3GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage which is further expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.

Nokia 5 has a 13MP rear camera with PDAF, 1.12um pixel size, f/2 aperture and dual-tone flash. The front-facing camera is 8MP with auto-focus, 1.12um pixel size, f/2 aperture and 84 degrees field of view.

The Nokia 5 is fueled by a 3000mAh battery with micro-USB charging port. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, FM radio with RDS, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB with OTG, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Sensors on board include Accelerometer (G-sensor), ambient light sensor, e-compass, fingerprint sensor, Hall sensor, gyroscope, proximity sensor, NFC (sharing). Nokia 5 also comes with a fingerprint sensor embedded in the home button .it has a single speaker for audio. It measures 49.7 x 72.5 x 8.05 mm.
