Nokia 5.1 Plus Launched in India with 19:9 FullView Display and Dual Rear cameras: Price, Specifications and More


Alongside the Nokia 6.1 Plus, HMD Global has today also launched the Nokia 5.1 Plus, in India. The main highlights of the smartphone include a 19:9 FullView display, dual rear cameras, and pure Android operating system. To recall, the smartphone is the global variant of the Nokia X5, which was launched in China earlier this year.

The Nokia 5.1 Plus will be available in India in September exclusively via Flipkart. The pricing of the smartphone will be disclosed at the time of availability.

The Nokia 5.1 Plus runs on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system and upgradable to Android P. it sports a 5.86-inch HD+(1520 x 720 pixels) 19:9 display with 84% screen-to-body ratio and 2.5D curved glass on top. The smartphone is powered by a 2.0GHz MediaTek Helio P60 octa-core processor coupled with Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. It offers 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 256GB via microSD card.

For photography, the Nokia 5.1 Plus comes equipped with a dual rear camera setup with a combination of a 13MP primary sensor with f/2.0 aperture, PDFA, and a 5MP secondary sensor with LED flash. On the front, it has an 8MP AI-powered shooter with f/2.2 aperture and 80.4-degree wide-angle lens for talking group selfies. The front camera also has an AI-based face recognition technology to unlock the device.

The Nokia 5.1 Plus is fuelled by a 3000mAh battery that is claimed to offer 27 hours of lifetime, 17.5 hours of talk time, 19.5 hours of music playback, 5.8 hours during gaming, and 12 hours of video playback. Connectivity options include Dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi, GPS, GLONASS, 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio, and USB Type-C port. Sensors on board include an ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, acceleration sensor, fingerprint recognition, electronic compass, and gyroscope. There is also a fingerprint scanner on the back. It measures 149.51 x 71.98 x 8mm and weighs 160 grams.
