Nokia 2 up for pre-order in US at $99


After debuting in Russia and South Africa earlier this month,  the entry-level Nokia 2 now arrives in the US as well.  The Nokia 2 has gone up for pre-order at online retailers such as Amazon, B&H, and Best Buy.

The device is listed on all three sites at a price tag of $99 with a coming soon label on it. Customers can pre-order the phone and the shipments will begin later on. Notably, it is only compatible with GSM-based carriers such as AT&T and T-Mobile (and the various MVNOs which use their networks). The device will not work on Sprint or Verizon, unfortunately.

To recall, the Nokia 2 runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system and promise to get Oreo update soon. Nokia 2 sports a 5” HD (720×1280 pixels) LTPS In-Cell Touch display protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top. Nokia 2 is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 SoC coupled with Adreno 304 GPU. It offers 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage.

The Nokia 2 comes equipped with an 8MP primary camera with autofocus and LED flash and a 5MP front-facing camera for taking selfies and making calls. The smartphone is fueled by a 4100mAh battery with two days battery life. Connectivity options include dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS/ A-GPS, FM radio with RDS, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors on board include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, and proximity sensor. It measures 143.5×71.3×9.3mm and is IP52-rated.
