Nintendo Switch has been updated to a new Firmware version 7.0.1

Nintendo has released another update for Nintendo Switch. This is the second firmware update in the Nintendo Switch in early 2019 as Nintendo has recently pushed a firmware update to version 7.0 in the last week.

This update is mainly focused on ‘System Stability’ and fixes some bugs. Another issue that has been fixed in this update is regarding the reconnecting issue of Pokemon Let’s Go to Pokemon Go app. This is a bit disappointing to have a whole system update for the console just for a particular game. I don’t know why Nintendo hasn’t pushed a particular update for the related Game instead of pushing the whole firmware update.

Meanwhile, you have to make sure to update to the latest version as if you didn’t do so you’ll not able to access the eShop. So, to update to the latest version, move to your setting tab on your Switch then hit on System Update. In case, you have opted for automatic updates and your console has been put on Sleep Mode, your update will have downloaded automatically. You just have to install that update when you open your Switch next time.

Here, is the official patch notes from Nintendo.

General system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience, including:

  • Resolved an issue where the Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! games cannot reconnect to the Pokémon GO app if the game software was closed after pairing with the app.
