If you’re a fan of 2 Fast 2 Furious, horror remake Th13teen Ghosts, or Josh Trank’s Fant4stic, then you’ll be thrilled to hear about the latest installment of the action franchise, EXPEND4BLES. The fourth addition to the series stays true to the nonsensical and fitting tradition of the franchise and retains the horribly-scripted banter and CGI that is unconvincing and horrendous. However, this does not mean that it won’t be enjoyable- as it is The Expendables that we are talking about.
The footage gives a glimpse of domestic bliss between highly-trained mercenary Jason Statham and Megan Fox before Sylvester Stallone’s Barney Ross intervenes and enlists the couple for their latest mission. The all-star cast also includes old favorites Dolph Lundgren and Randy Couture, alongside new additions such as Tony Jaa, 50 Cent, and Andy Garcia. With the movie’s release date set to September 22, we could be looking at a potential early-fall sleeper hit, as the first three films in the franchise accumulated over $800 million at the box office.
The film looks promising, and the band appears to be back together, with the same tongue-in-cheek humor that made the previous films quite enjoyable.
