New Xiaomi Patent Shows Pop-up Camera Design With Up To 7 Sensors

Patent filing has been one of the best ways to learn behind the scene of what smartphone manufacturers are experimenting with. The latest one we have come across is from Xiaomi and was recently authorized by CNIPA (China National Intellectual Property Administration), which shows a unique pop-camera module.

You may think about why we are calling it a unique pop-up selfie camera when we still have seen pop-up selfie camera in other smartphones. The pop-up camera module on the latest Xiaomi patent shows both the front and back-facing cameras on the same pop-up mechanism.

The patent reveals three distinct varieties of the design starting with two dual-camera setups on the front and back and going all the way to a dual setup on the front and a five sensor array on the back. The actual pop-up mechanism is quite wide and occupies most of the space above the screen.

As for its credibility, granted patent not always comes into production, but if this patent turns out to be true, it will be interesting to see how Xiaomi implements this feature.
