New Orchestra Video Brings ‘The Flash’ Movie Soundtrack to Life

Collider is thrilled to present an exclusive live performance of one of the original songs from The Flash soundtrack. Titled “Worlds Collide,” this track is part of the Multiversal soundtrack composed by the talented Benjamin Wallfisch.

In The Flash, Barry Allen, portrayed by Ezra Miller, alters the timeline in an attempt to save his mother from being murdered. Instead of creating a happy future, Barry unintentionally creates a reality where the Justice League metahumans never come to be, and General Zod, played by Michael Shannon, is on the verge of conquering Earth. In this alternate timeline, Barry forms new alliances with Sasha Calle’s Supergirl and Michael Keaton’s Batman. To create the soundtrack for The Flash, Wallfisch delved into extensive research on the Scarlett Speedster and other DC superheroes, blending various references to deliver a truly spectacular soundtrack. Wallfisch has been working on tracks like “Worlds Collide” since 2020.

According to the composer himself, “Andy has created something truly incredible with this movie, and as always I was honored to have been invited to be a part of his creative family. It’s not only one of the most spectacular and exciting superhero films ever made, everything is drawn together by a powerful emotional core which motivated the earliest sketches Andy and I worked on together, all the way back in 2020.”

The exclusive video also offers a glimpse into the process of composing a blockbuster soundtrack. We witness Wallfisch leading a full orchestra, harmoniously playing together to bring “Worlds Collide” to life. It’s a remarkable display of coordination that deepens our appreciation for The Flash soundtrack.

In addition, The Flash serves as a farewell to the DC Extended Universe. It marks Warner Bros. Discovery’s hiring of Peter Safran and James Gunn to spearhead DC Studios and create a new interconnected storyline that departs from what came before. As a Multiverse film, The Flash resets the DC timeline in preparation for Gunn and Safran’s projects. The movie takes audiences on a journey through various DC timelines, featuring cameos from the Zack Snyder era of DC films. It serves as both a goodbye to the DC Extended Universe and an introduction to the new DCU’s potential.

You can currently catch The Flash in theaters, and the movie’s soundtrack is available digitally and for pre-order in Triple Vinyl and Double CD formats. Be sure to check out the exclusive video below.
