New Observer System Redux Video Shows Off Stunning Next-Gen Visuals

Observer System Redux continues to impress with the latest comparison video between the original release and the new version coming to next-gen.

Bloober Team’s Observer is an exceptional psychological horror tale. Considering it’s from the team that also brought us Layers of Fear, that’s no surprise. However, the game’s unique look at cyberpunk fiction is something all genre fans should give a try. Recently, the team announced they’re bringing an updated version to next-gen consoles. And, after seeing it in action via Gamespot, I’m very excited to play through Observer again. Check it out.

Observer System Redux takes everything you know and love about the original and gives it a brand new coat of paint. Actually, saying it’s a new coat of paint is something of a disservice. Some of the work Bloober Team’s tech wizards have done, particularly in lighting, is astounding.  Just look at how much more detail they’ve added through volumetric lighting and global illumination. It’s pretty remarkable. And don’t even get me started on those puddles with raytracing on. Good gravy.

Of course, Observer System Redux isn’t just a graphical overhaul. Even veteran players have plenty of reasons to return. Bloober Team is also dropping in some brand new story content for the next-gen versions. So, whether you’ve played the original or not, this is certainly one to watch.

Observer System Redux is set to launch later in 2020 for PS5 and Xbox Series X. Of course, if you can’t wait, the game is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. While you won’t get all the shiny new content, the base game is still well worth your time. And, Bloober Team fans should keep one eye on The Medium. The team’s next horror tale is set to launch on PC and Xbox Series X later this year.
