New Nintendo Switch Successor Set to Release in Q1 2024

According to information from a reliable source that recently surfaced online, it seems that the successor to the Nintendo Switch could be released sooner than expected.

A post on the Gaming Leaks and Rumors subreddit reveals that Chinese investment website MoneyDJ predicts an increase in sales for Hongzhun, a manufacturer of metal cases, in the second half of the year. This prediction is based on Nintendo’s plans to launch their new console in the first quarter of 2024. While it remains unclear if this refers to the first quarter of the calendar year or the fiscal year, it suggests that we won’t have to wait too long to find out what Nintendo has in store for us.

Although we cannot confirm the accuracy of this release window for the Nintendo Switch successor, MoneyDJ has previously provided correct information about the production of the Nintendo Switch in 2016, when it was still known as the NX codename. This gives some credibility to the information that has been revealed.

Based on official statements, it is likely that the Q1 release window refers to the actual first quarter of 2024. In May, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa stated that no new hardware would be released before the end of the current fiscal year, which is March 31st, 2024. Additionally, it was confirmed that the console may be released shortly after its announcement. With reports of developers already having access to dev kits, it seems that an official reveal is not too far away.
