New Clip Shows Margot Robbie Returning to ‘Barbie’ Land on Roller Skates

The highly anticipated Barbie film, directed by Greta Gerwig, is drawing closer, and a new clip has been released to heighten excitement for the pink-filled feature. Following the viral “I’m Just Ken” video starring Ryan Gosling and John Cena’s ripped Mermaid Ken photo, Rotten Tomatoes has uploaded a new video showcasing Margot Robbie’s Barbie roller skating her way back to Barbie Land. Accompanying her are her two human friends, Mattel employee Gloria (played by America Ferrera) and her daughter Sasha (played by Ariana Greenblatt).

In the clip, Barbie takes Gloria and Sasha on an adventure to the pastel-colored Barbie Land, even though Sasha doubts its existence. Gloria, who is excited about the opportunity, reveals that she’s never done anything thrilling in her entire life. All three of them travel on rollerblades, following Barbie’s signature style. Barbie hints at an exciting adventure awaiting the mother-daughter duo and asks if they are ready for fun.

Barbie Is All Things Exciting and Camp

The upcoming Barbie film, set to be released on July 21, promises a campy and nostalgic cinematic experience. The film has received positive early reactions, with some praising its heartfelt story with a feminist twist, adding to its beauty. It has also been lauded for its campy, funny nature and the brilliant cast that brings Gerwig’s live-action Barbie concept to life.

While there have been animated Barbie films in the past, this upcoming movie will be the first to feature the beloved doll in a live-action setting. It took Gerwig to make this concept a reality, with Margot Robbie taking on the iconic role of Barbie. Initially, creating a live-action Barbie film seemed risky since the brand appeared limited in terms of a full-length storyline. However, the film’s team demonstrated that nostalgia is always a good idea, and the incorporation of various Barbie references received praise.

The film revolves around Barbie Land, a dreamy place populated by various Barbies and Kens. Despite her seemingly perfect life, Barbie begins to question her existence and decides to explore the world beyond her idealized realm. Ken, as a supportive boyfriend, joins Barbie on her journey to experience the real world, but they discover that living among humans is less colorful and fantastic.

The Barbie fever is in full swing, and despite the scarcity of pink paint in the world, we are eagerly anticipating the film’s release on July 21. Watch the clip below for a taste of the excitement to come.
