Google Photos has announced that its web version will be getting new advanced editing tools. These include Portrait Light, Portrait Blur, Dynamic, Color Pop, HDR, and Sky and will now be available on the Google Photos website. While these tools are already available on mobile, the addition to the website is exciting news. However, the advanced tools will only be available to Google One members. If you’re unfamiliar with these tools, Portrait Light allows you to adjust the position and brightness of the light in a portrait, Portrait Blur lets you adjust the background blurriness in a portrait and Dynamic automatically enhances the brightness and contrast of your photos. Color Pop lets you adjust the local contrast of edges, and HDR enhances brightness and contrast across the image. Finally, with Sky, you can select from several palettes and adjust the color and contrast in the sky.
Before getting too excited, there is a catch – the use of some of these tools may require a Google One membership, and your computer needs to have 4GB RAM, and your browser needs to be updated to the latest version. Despite these limitations, these new tools will be exciting for photo editors and enthusiasts alike.
