The PlayStation 5 will be getting entertainment apps like Disney+, Netflix, YouTube, and Spotify when the console releases on November 12.

In a post on the PlayStation Blog, media apps like Disney+, Netflix, and YouTube are confirmed to release alongside the PlayStation 5.

The full list of media apps coming at the PS5’s launch include Apple TV+, Disney+, Netflix, Spotify, Twitch, and YouTube. In addition to those apps, Hulu, Peacock, MyCanal, and Amazon Prime Video will be added at a later date.

“Within the Media space, you’ll no longer need to download entertainment apps through PS Store — it’s all in the Media space,” said Phil Rosenberg, PlayStation’s head of global partner development and relations. “Creating dedicated Game and Media spaces for the PS5 user experience will make it fast and easy to switch between gaming and entertainment content whenever you want. The PS5 console also features a new Control Center that makes controlling your music easier than ever before, so you can quickly switch between channels, skip, and pause your music.”

This news comes a week after we finally received a look at the PlayStation 5’s UI. Like the media apps, the PlayStation Store will be integrated in the system, meaning it won’t be a separate app you need to open up. Among the PlayStation 5 accessories you can grab at launch is a media remote. It features dedicated buttons for Disney+, Netflix, YouTube, and Spotify. Additionally, PlayStation will release its own headset that supports 3D audio alongside other compatible headsets.

As the PlayStation launch gets closer, we’ve also gotten more details on games releasing with the console. It’s been confirmed that Miles will be the only playable character in Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Additionally, Dirt 5 will be available at launch. For those that get the PS4 version, you can upgrade to the PS5 version for free.

The PlayStation 5 launches on November 12 in certain territories, followed by the 19th in the rest of the world. Stay tuned to DualShockers for more coverage on the PlayStation 5’s launch.
