Motorola Razr with Foldable Display tipped to come by the end of 2019

The iconic Motorola Razr is said to return back by the end of this year. The smartphone was first tipped earlier this year when we were at the initial stage of foldable smartphones. At that time, it was rumored that the Motorola Razr would release this year. But still, we haven’t heard anything related to this phone. And now, we have got the latest tips about this smartphone. So, what’s new about the latest rumor? Let’s check it out!

A spokesperson from Motorola has tipped this week with CNET, suggesting that the Motorola foldable smartphone would appear by the end of the year. It should be noted that the phone is only tipped to launch by the end of this year, not to be available for sale. The most likely plan of the company is they will place the press conference by the end of this year and will ship the Razr by the Q1 2020.

Earlier rumors suggested that the Motorola foldable smartphone, the first of what might be a line of said phones – would be branded with the name Razr. The Razr brand name is derived from the original Razr flip phone, years before the smartphone completely dominated the mobile phone market.

It is assumed that Motorola has taken time to reveal its first foldable smartphone to counter any defect that might occur in this smartphone. We have already seen the defect that was faced by the Samsung Galaxy Fold. In April it was discovered that the display on the first wave of Galaxy Fold review units wasn’t exactly ready for consumer sales. And that’s what Motorola didn’t want to face after the launch of Razr.

We will have to wait for an official announcement to know more, though a WSJ report claimed it will be a “high-end” device. Lenovo could manufacture 200,000 units of the 2019 Motorola Razr. The report added that the handset could go on sale as a Verizon exclusive in the US at a price of $1500 (or approx Rs 1,07,439).
