Moto P30 launched with iPhone X-Like Notch: Price, Specifications and more


After some initial leaks, Motorola has finally launched its first ‘P-series’ smartphone – The Moto P30, in China. The main highlights of the smartphone include an iPhone X-like 18.7:9 display with a glass back that has a gradient colour design. Further, the budget-centric smartphone has dual rear cameras and Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor.

Moto P30 Price and Availability

Moto P30 comes with the price tag of Yuan 2099 ($ 303/ Rs. 21,315 approx.) for the 6GB RAM with 64GB storage variant and Yuan 2499 ($ 361 / Rs. 25,380 approx.) for the top-end 6GB RAM and 128GB storage version. The smartphone will be made available in China starting September 15. It comes in Aurora Blue, Black, and White colour options.

Moto P30 Specifications

The Moto P30 runs the custom ZUI 4.0 based on Android 8.0 Oreo operating system. It sports a 6.2” full-HD+ (1080×2246 pixels) 18.7:9 IPS LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection on top. The smartphone is powered by 1.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 509 GPU. As Mentioned above, it offers 6GB of RAM with 64GB/ 128GB internal storage options. The internal storage can be further expanded up to 256GB via microSD card.

For photography, the Moto P30 comes equipped with a dual rear camera setup with a combination of a 16MP OmniVision OV16B sensor with f/1.8 aperture, 1.25μm pixel size and 5MP OmniVision  OV5675 sensor with f/1.8 aperture, PDAF, and dual-tone LED flash. On the front, it has a 12MP selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture, 1.25μm pixel size, double-sided AI blur, and AR capabilities. The front camera also equipped with facial recognition technology to unlock the device.

The Moto P30 is fuelled by a 3,000mAh battery. Connectivity options include Dual-SIM support, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0 LE, GPS + GLONASS, 3.5mm headphone jack and USB Type-C port. Sensors onboard include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, electronic compass, gyroscope, and proximity sensor. There is also a fingerprint scanner on the back embedded under the moto logo. It measures 155.5×75.95×7.69mm and weighs 170 grams.
