Xiaomi has announced the global release of MIUI 11 stable ROM update along with the launch of Redmi Note 8 Pro, Redmi Note 8, and Mi Air Purifier 2C. The MIUI 11 update was announced back in China the last month. It has been launched as an update to the existing MIUI 10.

Xiaomi claims that it has tried all the best possible ways to deliver a new minimalistic design by eliminating many of the UI elements. Key features of MIUI 11 includes multiple skins, full-screen experience, a dedicated system-wide dark mode, and many more features. Read on to get every detail related to the MIUI 11.

MIUI 11 New Features and Changes

Starting with a major change over MIUI 10 – the always-on experience that comes with the latest MIUI 11. You might have already experienced this feature a bit on Redmi K20 series phones that come with different clock styles. However, with MIUI 11, Xiaomi is expanding the existing experience with a Dynamic Clock. In addition, the MIUI 11 also includes symmetrical patterns to the lock screen inspired by Kaleidoscope.

While most of the smartphones are giving up notification lights, Xiaomi is giving this much privilege. With MIUI 11, the company is reimagined the notification light. It offers a notification light-like experience directly to the screen. This means no matter your phone has a dedicated notification light or not, it can provide you notification alerts in an idle state through on-screen notification effects.

In extending the personalization to the lock screen, Xiaomi has extended its partnership with Glance to offer a feature called Wallpaper Carousel. The company claims that the new feature is designed to deliver a personalized lock screen experience to the users. Also, the MIUI 11 brings a feature dubbed Dynamic Video Wallpaper that allows you to set any video to wallpaper on the display.

Apart from this, MIUI 11 also upgrades the existing  File Manager app with a document viewer and the ability to preview documents. Also, the company has added a task manager into the Mi Notes app that allows users to access the To-Do list and edit it.

With MIUI 11, Xiaomi has also taken care of the daily life experiences of users by adding a Step Tracker. Specifically for women users, the new MIUI version brings the option to track menstrual cycles directly from the preloaded Calendar app.

One of the brand new features of MIUI 11 is the Quick Replies that let you easily reply to a message or call without leaving the active app, video, or game on the screen. The new feature also enables messaging apps, including WhatsApp and the default Messaging app, to open in a small window to reply to important messages without leaving the active app, video, or game. Users can also enable or disable the Quick Replies feature for their favorite apps or games directly from the Settings menu.

The all new MIUI 11 comes with preloaded Mint Keyboard that supports over 25 Indic languages as well as English in addition to the feature called Translations within Transliteration and Real-time emoji suggestions for Indic languages. Also, the calculator app has been modified a bit with a floating interface to let users easily perform calculations. The app has also received the ability to calculate age, EMI, GST, and split bill.

There are many more features that are scheduled to hit the MIUI 11 in the coming days. Some of the new features include natural sound effects, wireless print, dual clock, Mi Share, and Gallery monthly view.
