Microsoft’s Your Phone app brings new accessibility features, GIF and emoji buttons in Messaging


Microsoft is continuously updating its Your Phone app along with the new builds of Windows 10 20H1. This time, Microsoft has added a bunch of features to its Your Phone and make them available to more types of Android phones.

Your Phone app Microsoft’s app which allows users to mirror their phone’s screen on their Windows 10 PC. This lets the user to control some of the action of their mobile phone right from their PC. At the initial stage, there were several bugs to this service, but as soon as it grows, Microsoft is making several changes to improve the user experience on Your Phone app. The latest version of the Your Phone app works with the latest build of Windows 10.

Today’s Your Phone updates for Android brings many features to this app including the ability to send and receive MMS messages, the ability to send and receive images and GIFs from the Your Phone app, an unread message indicator/badge, a new visual indicator on the Messages node showing that a user has unread messages and a visual indicator on the PC taskbar on the Your Phone icon indicating unread messages, syncing of the contact thumbnails for contacts who have profile images, in-line reply to text messages from toast notifications without having to open the Your Phone app, and many more.

In addition to all of the above-mentioned features, Your Phone can now sync over mobile data. Previously it only works with WiFi. Additionally, Microsoft has enabled a couple of new accessibility options for screen reading and focus tracking with the latest build.

Apart from this, Microsoft has added two more phones in its Your Phone supported device list which includes the Samsung Galaxy A8 and Galaxy A8+. Also, Android phones running Android 7.0 or greater work with Your Phone. Users also must be running at least Windows 10 Build 18338 and above and have a Windows 10 PC with Bluetooth radio and support for the low-energy peripheral role.
