Microsoft’s Xbox Games Showcase to Feature Abundant In-Game and In-Engine Footage

Microsoft is keeping tight-lipped about the games that will be featured at the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase, but Aaron Greenberg, the company’s games marketing vice president, has revealed a few details about the event. In response to a query on Twitter about the type of footage that will be shown, Greenberg confirmed that all first-party titles will include either in-game or in-engine footage, with no full CG trailers to be seen. He stated that each trailer will be clearly labeled for fans.

This announcement followed some criticism about the amount of CG footage presented at the PlayStation Showcase last month. Greenberg also confirmed in a tweet that there will be no movie or TV show trailers at the event, possibly a dig at Sony unveiling a new Gran Turismo movie trailer at the PlayStation Showcase.

The Xbox Games Showcase will take place this weekend, followed by a Starfield Direct, and both events will be streamed in theaters. While Microsoft has been quiet about what will be unveiled, Xbox has teased that a new look at Fable will be revealed.

Gamers can also look forward to several other events this month, including Summer Games Fest, Devolver Digital, and Ubisoft Forward.
