Microsoft Surface Laptop 3, Surface Pro X, Surface Pro 7 Launched at Microsoft Event: Price, Speciifcations


Microsoft has taken a Surface Event on Wednesday where it unveiled its first foldable devices – Surface Neo and Surface Duo. In addition to both of these foldable devices, the company has also updated its laptop series with the Surface Laptop 3 and two new tablets – Surface Pro X and Surface Pro 7. Let’s take a look at each of the devices one by one.

Microsoft Surface Laptop 3

This is the third generation of Surface Laptop series that will arrive in two sizes – 13.5-inches and 15-inches with a 3:2 aspect ratio PixelSense touchscreen. 

Under the hood, the 15-inch model is powered by a new Ryzen mobile processor from AMD with Iris Plus graphics 950, while the smaller 13.5-inch model is powered by an Intel 10th Gen Ice Lake processor or AMD Ryzen 7 3780U. Both of the models are backed up by 16GB of RAM. The 13-inch model of Surface Laptop 3 comes with up to 1TB of SSD, while the 15-inch model has inbuilt storage up to 512GB.

Apart from this, Surface Laptop 3 has a Type-C port that can be used to charge the laptop and transfer data. The Laptop 3 also gets a USB-A port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a Surface Connector. Microsoft promises an all-day battery life and fast charging over Type-C.

The Surface Laptop 3 13.5-inch model starts at USD 999 (approx Rs 71,000), while the 15-inch variant will begin at USD 1,199 (approx Rs 85,400). Both models are available for preorders in the US and will ship on October 22.

Microsoft Surface Pro X

The all-new Surface Pro X is a 2-in-1 PC that also gets a Type-C port now. It sports a 13-inch display with slim bezels and a weight that’s under 800 grams. 

The Surface Pro X runs on the latest version of Windows and is powered by a special Microsoft-custom version of a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, the SQ1 Arm chip. 

Surface Pro X tablet comes with a new Surface Slim pen that can be stowed in a garage above the keyboard and two USB-C connections. The Surface Pro X is available for preorder now, starting at $999, and will ship in November. 

Microsoft Surface Pro 7

The new Surface Pro 7 is also similar to that of Surface Pro X. Although the design of the Surface Pro X is similar to its predecessor, the company has made some changes in the internals. It sports a 12.3-inch display similar to that of the Surface Pro 6 and will be offered in black and silver color options. 

It gets its annual debut with a new Intel Core Ice Lake processors that come in Core i3, i5, and i7 configurations. Furthermore, it comes with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of SSD capacity. Just like Surface Pro X, it is also updated with USB-C connections. 

The Surface Pro 7 will launch on October 22, starting at $749.

SQ1 custom Arm chip

The SQ1 custom Arm chip is the latest and one of the most powerful chips developed by Microsoft in partnership with Qualcomm. It has been designed especially for accelerating the AI software to boost the performance of the PC for extensive tasks like recognizing speech and editing photos.

Microsoft emphasized the chip’s efficiency, claiming that it delivered three times more performance per watt than the one used in the previous Surface Pro model.
