Microsoft Surface Go 2, Surface Book 3, Surface Headphones 2, Surface Earbuds Launched: Everything You Need to Know

Microsoft has unveiled today some new gadgets from its inventory. The company has unveiled today the new Surface Go 2 tablet, Surface Book 3 laptop, Surface Headphones 2, Surface Earbuds, Surface Dock 2, and USB-C Travel Hub. With the launch of these products, the company is expanding its portfolio of tablets, 2-in-1s, laptops, and accessories, Microsoft says it wants to serve users no matter where they are and what size of the device they need. Let’s take an individual look at each of these products.

Microsoft Surface Go 2 Price, Specifications, and Availability

The all-new Surface Go 2 tablet comes with a larger 10.5-inch 3:2 1920×1280-pixel screen in the same body as its predecessor. It comes in two variants with different configurations and prices. 

The base model features an Intel Pentium Gold processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of eMMC storage. The high-end model has 8GB of RAM with a 128GB SSD with a higher-end CPU. One can also opt for the top-end model with integrated LTE.

Connectivity features on Go 2 include one USB Type-C port, Microsoft’s proprietary Surface Connector for charging and accessories, a headphones socket, a microSD card slot, dual-studio microphones, and a 5-megapixel webcam. 

As for the price, the base model is priced starting at $399.99, while the high-end model is priced at $629. The integrated LTE model is priced at $729. Microsoft’s Surface Type Covers in multiple colors for the new Surface Go 2 will be priced starting at $99. The device will go on sale starting May 12 in the US, Canada, UK, Japan, Australia, and several European countries.

Microsoft Surface Book 3 Price, Specifications, and Availability

The newly launched Microsoft Surface Book 3 is a detachable 2-in-1 laptop that comes in 13.5-inch and 15-inch versions. The company claims that the Surface Book 3 delivers up to 50 percent better performance than its predecessors. It is also available in two different variants.

The base variant is powered by Intel’s 10th Gen ‘Ice Lake’ Core i5 processor coupled with 8GB of RAM, and 256GB NVMe SSD, and integrated graphics. On the other hand, the top variant is powered with up to a 1.3GHz Core i7 CPU, which is coupled with GeForce GTX 1660 Ti GPU, 32GB of RAM, and 2TB NVMe SSD. The company also offers the buyers to opt for discrete Nvidia GeForce GTX or Quadro RTX GPU for gaming or professional content creation.

The 13.5-inch model weighs up to 1.64kg while the 15-inch version weighs 1.9kg, including the detachable tablet and keyboard base. Connectivity options on Surface Book 3 include Wi-Fi 6, two USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-A ports, one USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-C port, two Surface Connect ports, an SDXC card slot. Also, the company packs this laptop with a 5-megapixel front and 8-megapixel rear cameras, far-field stereo microphones, and a fully backlit keyboard. 

As for the price, the base model of Surface Book 3 starts at $1,599 while the top-end model will be priced at $3,399. Surface Book 3 will go on sale internationally starting in late May.

Microsoft Surface Headphones 2 Price, Specifications, and Availability

In addition to the above two products, Microsoft has also launched its Surface Headphones 2 which is an upgraded version of Surface Headphones. The company says that the new Headphones 2 comes with 13 levels of ambient noise reduction, better sound quality, and extended battery life.

Microsoft claims that the new Surface Headphones 2 will deliver up to 20 hours of battery life and almost an hour’s worth of usage with a five-minute charge. The headphones will be available in black or platinum priced at $249 starting on May 12.

Microsoft Surface Earbuds Price, Specifications, and Availability

Microsoft has also launched its new Surface Earbuds true wireless earphones. The company says that the Surface Earbuds is said to offer a comfortable fit and touch controls, plus integration with Spotify.

The Surface Earbuds are designed for music as well as voice calls and the dictation features of Microsoft Office. The company says that the new Surface Earbuds will offer up to 24 hours in total including the earbuds and charging case, with eight hours per charge of the earbuds themselves. A 10-minute charge is said to deliver up to one hour of use.  

The Microsoft Surface Earbuds will be available in a single Glacier color which is priced at $199. The box will contain three sets of silicone ear tips. It will be available from May 12 onwards.
