Microsoft rumored to launch the first ever “Always Connected” 5G PC

Microsoft rumored “Always Connected” 5G PC is reportedly said to be one of the first 5G PCs coming to the market. One more thing that is speculated about these 5G PC is they will be the first Microsoft PC to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest 8cx platform.

According to a report by Thurrott, Microsoft has built a Surface Tablet prototype which is powered by Qualcomm’s ARM-based Snapdragon chipset instead of Intel CPU.

If this report emerges as a true one, this will be the first ever Microsoft’s “Always Connected” PC to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets instead of Intel’s CPU. Currently, most of Microsoft’s “Always Connected” PC are powered by Intel processors. Apart from this, because of having the Qualcomm’s 8cx platform, it may support 5G technology making this Surface device the first ever PC with 5G technology.

There were also rumored that Microsoft was on their way to release the entry-level Surface tablets with ARM-processors but they switched to the Intel’s Pentium Gold processor due to the pressure build by Intel.

Apart from the 5G powered PC, it is also rumored that Microsoft is planning to launch the models with thinner screen bezels and more rounded corners just like Surface Go. However, all of these rumors will be confirmed at the end of this year when Microsoft will launch its redesigned Surface Pro.
