Microsoft Rolls Out Dark Mode Support to Outlook on iOS and Android Platforms


Microsoft is officially bringing the much-awaited Dark Mode feature to Microsoft’s Outlook apps on Android, iOS and web-based apps. All the Microsoft Office Apps such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc. will get the support of Dark Mode following the new iOS 13 update next month i.e. in the September month.

Microsoft introduced its Dark Mode feature on the Desktop Apps with Office 2019. Dark Mode is an essential feature and almost all the popular apps have introduced the Dark Mode feature on their mobile and desktop apps for the users. Dark Mode helps reducing eye strain and offers better viewing experience during the night time.

Dark Mode also consumes less energy and it saves a lot of battery life. Which is one more reason to use Dark Mode on the apps.

Microsoft’s Officials said that the new Dark Mode feature will be made available with the upcoming updates of the iOS and Android platforms. Depending on the preferences, Outlook will be automatically starting using the Dark Mode.

Currently, Outlook for Android has a built-in Dark Mode allowing you to use the Dark Mode by enabling the Battery Saver mode. Dark Mode for office user will have the same feature in the coming days.

If we talk about the Dark Mode feature update for iOS devices, then the new Dark Mode feature will be made available for iOS devices with the iOS 13 update. The Dark Mode will be available for the apps such as OneDrive, Planner, SharePoint and many other Microsoft powered apps on iOS devices.

The Dark Mode for iOS on Microsoft’s Word, Excel and PowerPoint is still in its development phase and will soon be made available with the next update.

Microsoft is adding a lot of improvements to iOS apps. With the next update of iOS i.e. iOS 13, users of the Microsoft apps will be able to switch the Dark Mode on using the system’s settings menu.

Furthermore, Microsoft has said that the Dark Mode update to Outlook on iOS starting from today itself. The update is not yet made available on the App Store.
