Microsoft Edge is World’s Second Most Popular Web Browser

Google Chrome is everyone’s favorite web-browser but there’s one more competitor to it and i.e. Microsoft’s Edge Browser. Yes, Edge has surpassed Firefox which claimed to be the second-most popular web browser for PC systems. Microsoft Edge is now the world’s second most popular web browser app.

If we talk about the current data, Microsoft Edge browser holds 7.59% of the total browser market. Well, you will be shocked to know the percentage covered by Google Chrome of the browser market which is 68.5%.

On the other hand, 5.6% of Internet users are still using the old-school Internet Explorer web browser. If we include the number of users of the Internet Explorer with the Microsoft Edge browser, then it will be much more higher than the existing Mozilla Firefox browser’s percentage. Apple’s Safari web browser holds 3.62% of the web browsing market.

If we talk about the popularity of the Microsoft Edge browser, it is the default web browser on Microsoft’s Windows 10 Systems. Windows 10 has gained massive popularity in the web world which is why the number of users of the Microsoft Edge browser is going up.

If we compare the data released by NetMarketShare, then Google Chrome is way far ahead than another web browser. There’s no way to beat the percentage covered by Google Chrome till date by any other web browser.

What’s disappointing here is the number of Mozilla Firefox’s users. Mozilla Firefox was known as the best web browser in the market even before the launch of Google Chrome. In such a short period of time, Microsoft Edge browser has gained massive popularity and crossed the total number of users of Mozilla Firefox.

In the coming years, Microsoft’s Chromium-based web browser i.e. Microsoft Edge will cover more percentage of the market. We will keep an eye on the stats and will release the updated data regularly. Stay tuned with us for more updates on this!
